Urethra (male and female) and prostatic urethra have the same ICD-O topography code (C680). However, for purposes of stage grouping AJCC 8th edition, they each have different definitions for T or primary tumor extension. A schema discriminator is necessary to distinguish between these primary sites so that the appropriate sub(chapter)/schema is used.Notes
