- Match*Pro is a file validation and linkage software that has been designed as a Windows-only application. Match*Pro is used to conduct probabilistic record linkages based on the Fellegi and Sunter model. It provides a user-friendly tabbed-interface for the configuration of linkages and the manual review of uncertain matches. The linkage configuration engine is flexible and allows users to specify blocking and matching methods, adjust the blocking sensitivity, define unknown values, set weights, and perform substitutions/swaps of matching fields. The manual review screen is color-coded which allows the match status of any linked pairs to be ascertained quickly. The application also provides users with tools to filter, categorize, and export the linkage results while conducting the manual review. Match*Pro's validation engine can help cancer registries and researchers identify issues in the Study Data Files they have prepared for record linkage. Researchers should use Match*Pro to validate and edit their study file before uploading to the VPR for IMS review.
