CiNA Diagnosis Year

Posted by Recinda Sherman on July 06 2023

The current CiNA Research Datasets contain data for diagnosis years 1995-2021.

All CiNA datasets are updated annually after publication of the CiNA*Explorer statistics and typically released in July. For users with CiNA Public Use datasets, they will have their access removed automatically and will need to request access to the updated dataset.

The current CiNA Public Use Datasets contain data for either diagnosis year 1995-2021 or 2010-2021, depending upon how many age groups are used to age adjust. CiNA Public Use datasets can be requested with age in either the 20 or 19 age groups for age-adjusting. The 20 age-groups is for diagnosis year 2010 forward, and 19 age-groups is for diagnosis year 1995 forward. When possible, NAACCR recommends using the 20 year age groups, with one additional older age-group, to most appropriately describe the burden of cancer. However, due to limitations with the denominator data, we are unable to provide the 20 age groups for earlier diagnosis years of data.
